What are the factors that affect the performance of steel crawler chassis

If the design is not thoughtful and unreasonable, there will be problems such as difficulty in walking and steering, and poor acceleration performance.

1. The external resistance of the ground to the crawler driving
The driving resistance of the ground crawler refers to the driving resistance caused by the ground deformation. The maintenance of the rotary drilling rig is related to the specific pressure of the crawler ground, the position of the center of mass of the vehicle and the ground conditions. Since the steel crawler chassis of engineering drilling rigs is generally required to work on poor ground, when selecting the specific resistance coefficient of the operation, various working environments should be fully considered and an appropriate resistance coefficient should be selected.
2. Internal resistance
Internal resistance mainly refers to the walking resistance generated by the internal friction of the walking mechanism. Steel crawler chassis is generally composed of drive mechanism, crawler, roller, guide wheel, sprocket or drag chain plate. When walking, the friction between these mechanisms will inevitably generate a certain internal resistance. The type of rotary drilling rig, this resistance generally consists of five parts:

(1) When the crawler shoe of the steel crawler chassis bypasses the guide wheel and the driving wheel, the frictional resistance of the crawler pin and the crawler pin sleeve when they rotate relative to each other. This resistance is related to the diameter of the track pin and the coefficient of friction between the track pin and the pin bushing.

(2) Frictional resistance at the roller of the steel crawler chassis. This resistance is related to the outer diameter of the roller, the diameter of the roller, the gravity transmitted by the roller to the track shoes, and the coefficient of friction between the roller shafts.

(3) Frictional resistance at the guide wheel. This resistance is related to the friction coefficient between the guide wheel and the bearing, the diameter of the guide wheel shaft and the diameter of the guide wheel raceway.

(4) Frictional resistance at the drive wheel of the steel crawler chassis. This resistance is related to the friction coefficient of the drive wheel bearing, the diameter of the drive wheel shaft, the diameter of the drive wheel pitch circle, and the tight edge tension of the track.

(5) Frictional resistance on the steel track chassis supporting sprocket or on the supporting sprocket plate. This resistance is mainly related to the weight, contact area and friction coefficient of the track shoes supported by the carrying sprocket or drag chain plate. Therefore, when selecting and assembling the rotary drilling rig chassis with locking rod, the internal resistance coefficient should be reduced as much as possible, and the frictional resistance caused by the unreasonable ratio should be solved from the source, so that the performance of the steel crawler chassis can reach a good working state.
